'Throughout the four years in which my daughter has been attending flute lessons with Katie, I have found her to be an excellent teacher.
It is wonderful to see the progress that my daughter has made due to Katie's professionalism and expertise.'

: My teaching career began more than twenty years ago, when I started teaching in my own studio and privately in several schools. Since then I have taught in many schools in Victoria and NSW and at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music. I completed a Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Melbourne, where I trained with leading flute teachers. I have enjoyed performing both in Australia and overseas with the Australian Youth Orchestra, the Melbourne University Orchestra and several other leading ensembles.
I am a qualified and registered classroom teacher and I also teach English, French and Music to High School students. I enjoy keeping up to date with pedagogical research around how students learn most effectively, and I use this knowledge every day in my teaching practice.
I believe that students learn best and can achieve their goals in an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment.
I teach beginners using the Suzuki Method and as students progress they may also choose to undertake AMEB Exams. My students gain excellent results in exams and assessments.
